  • Paint with bodyOil leaves ridged impasto, gouache dries matte and grainy, and wet paint smudges further than dry.

Paint It For Me

Hand it a photo. Watch it paint.

Paint It for Me paints your photo with real brush strokes from the app’s own engine — coarse strokes first, finer ones over the top, the way a painter works — on layers you can keep editing.

  • Two styles: Expressive or Hyperrealistic.
  • Four media: Pencil, Colored Pencil, Watercolor and Crayon.
  • Stop whenever you like and keep what’s drawn. One undo removes the whole painting.
  • Not generative AI: every mark is a brush stroke, made on your Mac. Your photo never leaves it.
  • Your first painting is on us.
How to turn a photo into a painting

Photo To Sketch

Ink Outline, Pencil Sketch, Comic or Blueprint, with a before/after divider. The result lands on its own layer.

Remove Background

Lift the subject out of a photo on your Mac, then paint a new background on a layer below or export a transparent PNG.

Paper & Feel

Paper you can feel

Eight surfaces, generated live on the GPU: fine paper, cold-press watercolor paper, kraft, woven linen, slate, a glossy whiteboard, matte white — and transparent. Turn on paper texture and dry media catch on the grain.

  • Pen pressureSize and flow follow your pressure on 46 of the 57 styles. A mouse or trackpad draws at full pressure.
  • Tilt shadingLay the pen over and 13 styles — graphite, charcoal, pastel, chalk, Conté — shade with the side, wider and lighter.
  • Steady linesThe Steady slider smooths your stroke as you draw. The Pixel Brush skips it on purpose.
  • Turn the pageTwist two fingers to rotate the canvas like paper; it snaps square when you’re close.
  • Wet, then dryFresh paint glistens, then dries to its true color. The sheen is for your eyes only — it never reaches an export.
  • The sound of the toolTurn on brush sound and pencils scratch, brushes sweep and cans hiss.

Color

Color, and somewhere to mix it

Start with five colors. With Pro, the Chroma Orb gives you a hue ring, a saturation and brightness field, opacity and hex — and beside it sits a Mixing Well where you lay paint down and smear it together with the real Smudge brush.
